Okay so to continue my rant on gas prices I've signed an online petition to be sent to Congress asking them to open up exploration and oil production on American soil as an alternative to purchasing oil from countries that are hostile to us. If you are interested in singing the petition there is a link on the right of my homepage or you can go to http://www.americansolutions.com
Let's get the ball rolling and watch the price of gas go down.
The musings of a goofy guy who is trying to make a difference in the world.
If you like cheesy music, sappy romantic movies, camping, college football (especially the University of Utah), conservative values, and faith in Jesus Christ you may find this interesting...

Gas prices and my security
It's time to get a little political. I read this today and it got me thinking.
http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/05/this-will-be-1-issue-in-2008-election.html
I wish to high heaven that people would let go of their knee-jerk reactions to our environment for just 2 seconds to think about what our inablility to do anything about finding new US Based energy resources is accomplishing. By not being proactive we are allowing the oil cartels the opportunity to tell us how much we will pay for our gas and oil.
If we are importing 5,000,000,000 barrels of oil each year due to our desire to preserve pretty places for reindeer that no one ever visits (ANWAR) at $129.00 a barrel-- We are paying the oil producing regimes $645,000,000,000 this year for that oil. News Flash! Some of these regimes (Iran, Venezuela) HATE Americans. We in effect are funding regimes that hate us if we refuse to tap into the natural resources we have right here.
I think it's time to make a smart decision that will provide us the stability we so desperately need to be successful in the future as a freedom loving nation. If said we will drill new oil I'm sure the price of oil would immediately drop even if we wouldn't see a drop of that oil for 10 years.
Okay I'll get off my soapbox for a little while.

Summers in Texas (How I hate them!)
The high temp today was 99 degrees. Uggghh!!! I loathe the 7 month long summers here in Texas. Days like today make me really miss the 4 actually distinct seasons in Utah.
Then I come across something like the video above that is just a thing of beauty to me about my beloved University of Utah.
Man how I miss that place!
Have a great day!

Off I Go Into the Wild Blue Yonder
Okay,
First of all I must say that you must have a really sad life to read my random thoughts but then again, maybe you have excellent taste and will thoroughly enjoy getting a sneek peak into the inner workings of how my mind works.
I really have no major goals here other than to possibly create a better log of what's going on in my life via some sort of web based journal.
I'd like to thank my younger brothers Wade and Carl and my good friend Kiera for inspiring me to do this. (Thanks guys).
More to come shortly...
